Meet Dr. Kecia L. Taylor "Coach K"

Dr. Kecia L. Taylor is a dedicated Christian coach committed to supporting individuals and families through grief and life transitions. Guided by her faith, lived experiences, and a deep calling to serve, Dr. Taylor integrates spiritual principles with evidence-based psychological practices to help others find healing, restoration, and purpose. Her grief work includes the creation of Grace After Grief, a transformative, faith-integrated healing initiative designed to help individuals navigate loss, find hope, and move forward with purpose. While initially developed to address the unique grief experiences of African American men, Grace After Grief is an adaptable model that can be tailored to people of all ages, genders, cultural backgrounds, and experiences of loss. Its flexible, compassionate approach creates space for healing that honors each person’s story while empowering individuals and communities to discover strength, hope, and renewed purpose beyond grief.
Dr. Taylor embraces an integrative approach to coaching that honors the transformative power of God while utilizing clinically sound, research-informed methods. Her work is grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and a commitment to meeting individuals where they are in their healing journey.
EDUCATION: Dr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice, a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Addictions, and a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies with a concentration in Grief Counseling.
EXPERIENCE: With more than two decades of professional experience, Dr. Taylor has built a diverse career spanning the legal, behavioral health, and human services fields. Since 1999, she has served as a paralegal at a law firm in Princeton, New Jersey, where she has developed extensive experience in legal support and client services. Over the past 11 years, she has expanded her professional expertise through her roles as a Criminal Justice and Addictions Counselor with New Horizon Treatment Services, an In-Home Counselor with Oaks Treatment Services, and a Crisis Response Specialist with Legacy Treatment Services. Across these positions, Dr. Taylor has provided compassionate, direct support to individuals and families navigating complex challenges, demonstrating a strong commitment to advocacy, service, and community well-being.
AUTHORITY: Anointed and appointed, through her scholarship, service, and faith-centered practice, Dr. Taylor stands as a trusted voice in grief counseling equipping individuals and communities with the tools to navigate loss and move toward healing with resilience, dignity, and hope.
